Toy Lending Library
Keep your child's play varied without buying new toys! Our Toy Lending Library contains nearly 1,000 toys, activities, and games for children of all ages. We also have literacy backpacks - see below for details. Toys may be checked out for two weeks at a time. Great for families with little ones visiting, too!
Types of toys and activities in the Toy Library include:
A large variety of building toys (different kinds of blocks, magnetic tiles, connectors)
Baby & toddler toys (rattles, blocks, pull toys, stackers, musical instruments, and more)
Pretend and learning play (play food, dolls and doll accessories, matching & sorting, action figures, animals, etc)
Games - educational games, family board games, card games
Outdoor toys/activities
Baby gear - bouncers, activity centers, table boosters, baby bath supports, strollers
Travel activities - toys and other activities for the road, plane, or train: low mess, magnetic, few or no loose pieces, road trip games
Puzzles
and more!
Literacy Backpacks
The goal of the Literacy Backpack Program is to promote early literacy in Northern New Mexico homes in tangible ways. Each backpack is based on a theme and features one or more books as well as a related toy or family activity to help reinforce the topic in an engaging way. Backpacks are located in the FRC play area. Ask any staff member for help locating or choosing one.
