Travel for work presents exciting opportunities for career and personal development – and creates challenges at home. Shift work presents many of the same challenges – s/he may be in town, but it feels like s/he is gone. In this workshop, we will discuss issues between spouses such as:
- Staying connected while living different lives
- Dueling needs: catching up at work vs. the “honey-do” list vs. date night
- Shifting decision-making responsibility
- Maintaining fidelity and trust
When children are involved, challenges multiply. We will discuss:
- Staying connected to the kids
- Reassuring children who are missing the traveling spouse
- Co-parenting: keeping a united front
