FSN is hosting IMPACT of Santa Fe for a two-part class. Personal Safety 101 empowers participants by teaching them what assailants look for and how to avoid being chosen as a target. Students practice awareness skills, body language and using their voices. Learn strategies for dealing with a creepy stranger at the park, pushy people who “won’t take no for an answer”, and other uncomfortable situations. In Healthy Relationships, we discuss which aspects of relationships are particularly valuable for each participant personally. Students learn about relationship “red flags” and the progression of controlling and abusive behavior.
Students are empowered to pay attention to their instincts and speak up – or yell out! This class is great for youth starting to lead a more independent social life or going off to college. Students leave with everyday safety tools and the knowledge that preventing and stopping violence is possible. Learn more about IMPACT at impactpersonalsafety.org.
